The Kavir National Park is one of the largest and oldest protected areas in Iran. It is mostly located in the Garmasar district of Semnan province, with smaller portions in Tehran, Qom, and Isfahan provinces. Despite its name, significant parts of the park exhibit desert-like characteristics and contain abundant vegetation.
